Four suggestions for soil improvement

Nowadays, with the rapid development of society and the continuous progress of science and technology, the serious problem is that the environment we live in has been polluted and the land we depend on has been devastated. In order to ensure that farmers continue to produce and protect the dream of increasing agricultural output, we must take measures to improve the soil. The corresponding schemes for soil improvement mainly include the following four:

1, Increase the amount of organic fertilizer
Many growers are not accepting organic fertilizer and they are repulsive. They do not understand the importance of organic fertilizer on soil fertility. They prefer to using traditional manure and livestock manure to increase soil fertility. They lack a serious understanding of organic fertilizers.
Increasing the application of organic fertilizer can increase the salinity and alkali content of the soil, to a certain extent, it can greatly loosen the soil, increase the gap between the soil, and promote the enhancement of the soil’s ability to retain water and fertilizer. Moreover, the organic acid produced by the organic fertilizer can also neutralize the alkalinity of the soil and achieve the effect of improving the soil.

2, Irrigate reasonably
Reasonable irrigation refers to using the least water source possible to achieve the best results. There must be a quantitative standard here. It can be determined according to the field water holding capacity, wilting coefficient, effective soil moisture, and soil bulk density.
Reasonable irrigation should pay attention to be able to judge the accurate irrigation period according to the humidity of the soil, do not fully irrigate, because the main body of irrigation is plants, not the soil itself. Moreover, due to different meteorological conditions in different years and different plant growth in different plots, irrigation indicators need to be adjusted accordingly.
In short, reasonable irrigation can not only save water, but also reduce costs, and increase income. The most important thing is to increase soil fertility and promote high crop yields. Generally, sufficient winter water should be irrigated one year before planting, and watering should be carried out in time for planting, so as to avoid the harm of salt and alkali.

3, Use soil conditioners properly
The soil conditioner mainly achieves the effect of improving the soil by adjusting the pH value and temperature of the soil and repairing the contaminated soil.
The types of soil conditioners are mainly acid soil conditioners, alkaline soil conditioners, and loose soil conditioners. Growers can use conditioners scientifically according to the problems and needs of the soil itself. However, it is not always possible to use soil conditioners. The soil conditioner should be used for mediation only after it is determined that the soil has deteriorated. Long-term or excessive use of conditioning agents will lead to over-correction and will be more unfavorable for crop growth. Therefore, soil conditioners should be used in different quantities and times according to different deterioration conditions.

4, Adopt the strategy of covering the surface without turning over the ground
This is the natural, simple and healthy way to protect the soil. As the name implies, don’t turn the ground, and properly use waste organic matter or planting land to cover the soil surface with plants. For example, you can cut grass, orange stems, or deciduous branches to cover the crops, provide nutrients for the crops, reduce soil water loss, and inhibit soil return Alkali reduces ground runoff and increases soil organic matter content.
Not turning over the ground can protect the soil microorganisms and insects in the soil from healthy reproduction. For example, earthworms are a good helper to protect the soil. It feeds on the decaying roots of crops and the decaying branches and leaves of the soil surface, and earthworm dung is the best fertilizer for the soil. Earthworms degrade harmful substances such as heavy metals when they digest spoilage food. This provides the most simple, natural, self-sufficient, clean and healthy fertilizer for farmland.
Of course, there are many more ways to improve the soil. In short, only when we strictly implement and effectively implement the improvement plan can we return the soil health, and maintain a healthy and safe environment, so as to realize the farmers’ dream of increasing income!
